Leggings for Girls

Pattern Leggings

Footless Tights or Fashion Leggings?

A few of the colors choices you’ll find are red, gray, pink, white, black, blue, tan, yellow and orange. There’s some pretty fun leggings with all kinds of patterns now a days. The solid ones are a wardrobe staple.

Leggings go with everything, right? There’s capri tights and leggings for baby, kids, toddlers, children, juniors and adults.

They can also be described as footless tights. For some reason our family has always used the word leggings. When I was growing up, tights were our nylons that never fit right. To this day I don’t wear full length nylons.

Stretch is definetly a must when buying leggings. Our kiddos wear them most days so it’s wonderful they come in several sizes.

Many of these Leggings have an elastic waist and are made with soft, stretchy fabric. Please read the descriptions and check the sizes so you get exactly what you want before purchasing.

For little ones, they are especially precious when worn with a tutu or pettiskirt. The ruffle design is a favorite. There’s endless uses, but here are a few:

  • with skirts
  • under shorts
  • as capris
  • dance class
  • performing on stage
  • just being comfy

Fashion leggings and tights are a great way to feel comfortable all day. With so many colors and patterns to choose from you might have a different pair for each day of the month.

Or maybe not.

But I do have to say our family wears them often. They’re usually the first thing they put on when they want to get comfy.

The girls like the longer capri style while I like the ones that go to the ankle. Preferably with extra fabric at the bottom to cover all of my ankle plus some.

Lately I see many people asking about sweater leggings. Is this the same as winter leggings? I would think those two are as close as it gets but there could always be a line of clothes I haven’t yet discovered. New fashion is always a thrill.

The heavier fleece ones are nice to wear in the colder months. Throw a long shirt or dress over them to wear as pants if you so desire.

Many people think leggings are only for females.

Boys and men wear them as well. While learning the history of leggings it says they started out as two separate garments to be worn one for each leg.

This could be part of the reason I get confused when talking of leg warmers, leggings or footless tights. I find this rather amusing and could discuss this at more length sometime.

Maybe clothes is not your thing today. Here is some gift ideas for girls.

If you would like to see more about men in tights, I got the info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legging
